slacker
Sorry, I've been a real bum. I haven't posted in almost two weeks. It doesn't really matter though, I probably have one or two readers. Life is great though. I just graduated, I'm now an intern and leader at the church I go to, and I'm a leader of the youth group I'm helping get started. I'm not sure where else to go with this. I don't really have any lyrics that are on my mind right now and I haven't written anything good lately. I guess this is a good ending point then. God bless!

Last Lament
So rather than dailyish thoughts, I should change the name to weeklyish thoughts. I'm a slacker, all of you should know that. Anywayzz, for today's post, I have the lyrics to a Called to Arms song called "The Last Lament." It's a pretty epic song and has some incredible lyrics. Enjoy!
Everything's so pretty now
Its a drunken love affair by candlelight
In the carefree city that lived in safety
Keep the candles dim
Your grief will meet your glory
Your grief, your glory
She's just a cold-blooded killer
Trying to stay warm
Hiding her identity from fire
Line up next to kings and generals
Make yourself at home in the harlot's bed
Where your luxuries pile as high as your sins
I watch in disbelief with hope for a greater comfort
One that fulfills
We still keep dancing in this masquerade
We'll dance until the world eats itself alive
We'll dance until the world eats itself alive
She's a supermodel filled with cyanide
Spilling innards by the bedside
And it spreads like a plague
Get in line
Fire feeding fire
This is the end of all
Fire burning higher
Tower of Babel never looked so small
Fire feeding fire
This is the end of all
Fire burning higher
Tower of Babel never looked so small
Consider this your last chance
Two thousand years of warning
Consider this your last dance
There's a time for play, there's a time for mourning
But there's a song of redemption to be sung
Where there's a chance there's a hope
If you answer the call of the Father
Run to me, because I love you
Run to me, my beloved,
Because change can't wait forever
This world wont last forever
Because change cant wait forever
This world wont last forever
And I can't wait until it doesn't
Everything's so pretty now
Its a drunken love affair by candlelight
In the carefree city that lived in safety
Keep the candles dim
Your grief will meet your glory
Your grief, your glory
She's just a cold-blooded killer
Trying to stay warm

greatness over fame
Well, this here blog is going to contain whatever I want it to contain. It could be some rambling of what my day was like, it could be a little free-verse poetry, or it could be (part of) a song. I'll decide and you'll read, sound good? Great.
Today, I was doing some thinking of what my pastor talked about at church last night. The thought that was stuck in my head was, "fame is what people recognize you for, greatness is what you actually did." That inspired me to sit down and write what came into my head and this is what was on the paper.
Fame is what you aim for,
greatness is in my crosshair.
You seek power and dominion
while I desire no recognition.
You couldn't live being poor,
and I wouldn't mind being rich.
Popularity rules in your opinion,
but God reigns over my position.
However, a solitary soul
will bring you nothing in the end
But with God inside me
I'm destined for great things.
Anticipating my roll
and what I will transcend.
To Him be all my glory
cause it's greatness that He brings.
